Easy Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta

The key to its lusciousness is the use of high-quality vanilla beans, which infuse the panna cotta with a rich, aromatic essence.   • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 1 packet unflavored powdered gelatin
  • 3 tbsp cold water
  • 1 cup buttermilk


  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, sugar, and the scraped vanilla bean along with its seeds. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over cold water and let it stand for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Remove the vanilla bean pod from the cream mixture and stir in the softened gelatin until fully dissolved.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat and let cool slightly before stirring in the buttermilk.
  5. Pour the mixture into serving molds or ramekins and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  6. When ready to serve, unmold the panna cotta by dipping the molds in warm water for a few seconds and gently inverting onto plates.
  7. Garnish with fresh berries or a sauce of your choice and serve immediately.
