Creamy Garlic Butter Shrimp

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, deveined and tails removed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice


  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  2. Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the white wine and simmer until reduced by half, about 2 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low, add heavy cream, and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet and cook for another 1-2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Stir in parsley, lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
